International Tourism Arrivals — India & USA

Analyzed international tourist arrivals for India and the United States from 1995–2019 using World Bank open data. Applied linear regression in Excel to model growth trends and forecast arrivals through 2025, capturing pre-COVID baselines and post-pandemic recovery projections.

Key Finding
India grew from ~2M to ~18M arrivals (1995–2019), showing rapid growth potential. The USA maintained ~80–175M arrivals with projected recovery to ~200M by 2025 — two very different tourism profiles responding differently to the pandemic.

The Story So Far

I'm a high school student in Redmond, WA with a clear goal: study Computer Science & Data Science in college and build things that matter.

I'm a member of my school's Computer Science Club and Girls Who Code. Through a collaboration between Girls Who Code and Coding for Medicine, I'm helping build a real app for our school's health office — experiencing the full software development cycle the way it works in professional environments.

Through TSA (Technology Student Association), I competed in the Data Science project event — analyzing international tourist arrivals for India and the United States using World Bank open data from 1995–2019, applying linear regression in Excel to forecast post-pandemic recovery through 2025.

I also launched a real business (Samy's Crochet 🧶), built a live website for it, and earned a University of Washington certification in Coding in Python I — applying those skills directly in my text-based adventure game.

My plan includes AP CSA, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics, with summers dedicated to CS50, data science projects, and building my technical portfolio.
